COD4 - Adding to favorites

I am trying to find a place in COD4 where I can enter the IP address 8.9.6.185:28930, but all I get is a list of server names. I also tried to enter the favorite in STEAM favorites and it shows up as players 0/0, Latency 2000 and no "name" associated with the server. Please educate an old fart.

When you're browsing the CoD4 servers there's an option for favorites. Up top you should see where you can filter the servers, to the right of that you should see the option favorites.

I'm not sure if you have to be filtering your servers by the favorite server filter or not, but the option is up there on the top right.

To the right of Filter there is a desensitized button that says "New Favorite"...but it won't let me click it. Should I have PunkBuster as Yes or No in multiplayer options...does this matter?

Try filtering your servers by 'favorites' and then try adding a new favorite.

Got it...Instead of clicking Filter Servers, I had to click Source until it changed to Favorites...I'm golden now..T/Y

Everytime I start multiplayer it says Punkbuster is disabled, even though I keep turning it on in options. When I type in the IP to add it to favorites it says it's not a valid IP...... Haven't been able to get in to our servers yet. Damn I miss CS:S already LOL.

Have you been adding the port to the end of the ip address? We dont use the default port so you have to specify it.

Affirmative. I'm wondering if it's something to do with Punkbuster. I have to turn on pb every time I start multiplayer, can't get it to start automatically.

Go here and make sure
1) you actually have Punkbuster installed
2) it's up to date

you can also try connecting by the console. Bring the console down with ~ and enter without quotes "Connect (IP adress here)"

Got it working, KG was right, my punkbuster needed updated.
