Taking the plunge and upgrading to the Windows 7 final release. Rather curious to see if the Upgrade process breaks everything, or if I'll have to do a fresh install.

I've got a TechNet subscription, so I get downloads and ten "evaluation" licenses of pretty much any of Microsoft's products.

hey now we can't already be stealing their new software. Give it a few weeks... :p

edit: I forgot to ask. Is Windows 7 really that much better than Vista? Oh and how good is driver/software support for it yet? Minimal like usual?

It's incredibly smooth and responsive. It looks like Vista, but runs like XP. I've had no driver or program issues even doing an upgrade, which is incredible... normally you have to do a fresh install or the whole thing blows up in your face, but they got it down this time. Other than no support for Virtual Server yet, two thumbs up.

Yeah even for 64 bit OS usually lack in driver support, Win7 has been fantastic, haven't had an issue that wasn't my own doing :p...but I agree with War, two thumbs up :D
